Busting the myths of the staffing industry

5 common staffing industry myths

Looking for a job but not sure if using a staffing agency is the way to go? We get it. The staffing and recruiting industry has a bad rep. People have pre-conceived notions about what working with a staffing agency is like. But the modern staffing industry exists for one reason: to find the right job for the right people.

We’re here to bust some of the most common myths associated with the staffing industry.

Myth 1: Staffing agencies hire only temporary workers.

Fact: Staffing agencies do hire temporary workers, but they also hire direct hire and temp-to-hire workers, on both a full-time and part-time basis. Temporary or contract work is only part of what we do.

Myth: The only open jobs are for entry-level positions.

Fact: Staffing agencies fill a wide variety of positions ranging from entry-level up to executive searches. In the past year, KRG has executed searches for Office Mangers, Senior Accountants, Controllers, Attorneys, RNs, Case Managers, and Director level HR positions.

Myth: Using a staffing agency costs a lot of money.

Fact: Working with a staffing agency is free for the job seeker. It is our clients that pay a fee, only after a candidate is placed in a position at their company.

Myth: Staffing agencies are just for administrative positions.

Fact: It’s true that many agencies do focus on administrative and clerical positions. But there are countless agencies around the country that have their own niche. While we certainly are capable of filling numerous types of positions, Key Resource Group has long been known as the go-to legal staffing source in WNY.

Myth: Recruiters/staffing managers don’t care about the applicants.

Fact: Our staffing managers care deeply about the applicants they work with. They take the time to get to know the applicants and what they are looking for in their next job. We then connect job seekers with companies where there will be a good cultural fit. Beyond that, our staff is here to offer resume writing tips, interview guidance, and other job search advice.
